World Boxing Council President Jose Sulaiman has advised former champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. to get a new trainer. Chavez lost a near one-sided twelve round decision to Sergio Martinez in September. He probably lost the first eleven rounds, but managed to badly hurt and then drop Martinez in the final round. Afterwards Chavez tested positive for marijuana and is facing a suspension.

Sulaiman says Roach focuses most of his attention on superstar Manny Pacquiao and "forgets about his other fighters." He said Chavez needs a coach who can spend the necessary time grooming him. Amir Khan had a similar complaint when he left Roach to start training with Virgil Hunter. Sulaiman also blamed the marijuana charge on a mishap in Chavez's camp and stated the following - "what happened is that a stupid assistant administered a drug containing marijuana and then he tested positive in the drug test."

One trainer mentioned to potentially train Chavez is Robert Garcia of Oxnard, California. Sulaiman said Garcia "is very good coach."
