Middleweight contender Curtis Stevens (25-3, 18KOs) is very confident WBA/IBO champion Gennady Golovkin (27-0, 24KOs) will regret his decision to sign their bout agreement for November 2nd at The Theater in Madison Square Garden. Stevens says New York City is coming back strong to take over the entire middleweight division with fighters like WBO champion Peter Quillin and top contender Danny Jacobs. He wants to place himself in a top middleweight position by taking Golovkin out in the fall.
"New York is bringing it back. It fell off the map for a little while but we're bringing it back. We have a whole bunch of gorillas and killas who are getting in there and risking their life every night in the ring. We have whole different type of group, we going to go in there and take over the boxing division. He feels he's great there, but we're in my hometown. I run New York, I don't jog much. But come November 2nd, he's gonna know that he signed the wrong contract," Stevens told BoxingScene.com.
