Steve Luevano Pummels Cook For WBO Title

Steve Luevano (33-1) blasted Nicky Cook in the eleventh round with hook to the body to claim the WBO featherweight title at the O2 Arena.

Cook was dropped five times in the fight, ost of them as a result of the body damage he took in the fight. Luevano's left hooks to the body sent Cook down in the second round, the ninth and the eleventh.

Cook, who was originally scheduled to face the troubled Scott Harrison for the same title in December, showed his big heart by trying to fight his way out of danger in several of the eleven rounds.
