Top rated welterweight contender Errol Spence Jr. expects former five division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (49-0, 26KOs) to return to the ring in the not too distance future.

Mayweather retired from boxing last September after dominating former IBF world champion Andre Berto over twelve rounds at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

In the last twelve months, Mayweather and Spence have become very close. Mayweather is pushing Spence as the next superstar fighter to carry the sport.

Spence would like to see Mayweather face WBC welterweight champion Danny Garcia, former four division champion Adrien Broner - but no Gennady Golovkin, who Spence feels is too big. And another fighter who Spence would like to see Mayweather avoid is UFC superstar Conor McGregor. For a few weeks Mayweather was pushing for that fight, but it never went any further than both fighters teasing their fanbases on the social networks.

"Yeah I think Floyd will come back. There is too much money on the table waiting for him. I think he is going to come back and fight again," Spence told Chris Robinson of Hustle Boss.

"I'd like to see him in there with Danny Garcia. Triple G is too big, I don't see that happening. Floyd walk around at like 150, so I don't see that happening. I could see Danny Garcia, Adrien Broner. I don't want to see Conor McGregor at all. That's an MMA fighter vs. a boxer. He's good at kickboxing, but you got pure boxers who can't beat Floyd so how is Conor McGregor gonna beat Floyd."

Spence views Mayweather vs. Broner as a very big sell on pay-per-view.

"I think that fight would sell. They are both talkers, they are both flashy. I think that fight would sell a lot," Spence said.
