IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence is less than 24 hours away from his big moment.
Spence will defend his world title against four division world champion Mike Garcia, who is moving up by two weight divisions to take the fight.
The contest takes place on Fox Sports Pay-Per-View, from the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
An impressive victory would open up a lot of doors for Spence.
The biggest in the division, especially for the future, is a showdown with WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford.
Despite their professionally rivalry, Spence likes Crawford as a person - which is more than he can say about WBA world champion Keith Thurman.
“I kind of like Terence Crawford because I feel like he’s being himself,” Spence said to Sporting News. “A lot of dudes in boxing are fake. Guys like Keith Thurman, I don’t like him. Guys like that try to play a role.”
Should Spence defeat Garcia, as the oddsmakers expect, he would like to face WBA "regular" welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao or WBC champion Shawn Porter. He doubts that a fight with Thurman will happen any time soon - especially with Thurman stating that he won't fight Spence until 2020 at the earliest.
As far as Crawford, right now a fight with Spence is difficult to make. Spence is tied to Premier Boxing Champions, who have deals with Fox Sports and Showtime. And Crawford is aligned with Top Rank and ESPN.
But Spence expects that fight to happen down the line, with contest eventually becoming a major event if they both keep winning.
“Whenever me and Terence fight, we will bring the best out of each other," Spence said. "That will definitely be a super-fight.”
