New Zealand heavyweight champion Shane Cameron (19-1, 17KOs) is preparing to return for the first time since being knocked out by Friday Ahunanya last November.

The first loss of his career, a stoppage in the twelfth round, came at heels of securing a major fight in America. Cameron had to undergo surgery for the terrible cuts that were suffered during the loss. In several of his fights, he's been cut badly. He's hoping the recent surgery has helped solve his problem with cuts. A March return is the current plan.

”There’s a bit of bone growth around the eyebrow,” Cameron told TV3. “So just round that off and clean up all the scar tissue, so everything’s a lot smoother and there are no bumps and that sort thing.”
