Former two division world champion Shakur Stevenson is still hunting for an opponent for a planned WBC lightweight eliminator.

Several names have turned him down, but one name that is likely to agree - is Jamaine Ortiz.

Back in October, Ortiz made a big impression when he face three division champion and huge favorite Vasiliy Lomachenko.

He gave Lomachenko all he could handle for twelve rounds, with the two-time Olympic gold medal winner made to work hard to secure a unanimous decision win.

Stevenson cautions that unlike Lomachenko he's not an older fighter on the decline. While Stevenson expects a tough contest with Ortiz, he's very confident in walking away with the victory.

"Jamaine Ortiz is on the list. I know him personally," Stevenson said to Sky Sports. "He's not going to say no. He wouldn't duck nobody.

"He did real good with Lomachenko. He just was a frontrunner. I'm not taking anything away from him. I already know he's a tough fight for whoever. He's a big 135-pounds.

"He's a frontrunner, I think the first six rounds he's going to start off blazing hot. Then the next six he dies down. The world would like to see it just based off what he did with Lomachenko. But Lomachenko is a older guy, he's slowly going down. I'm like a young killer. It's not going to be the same type of thing if we do fight."

Stevenson saw action back in September, when he picked up a dominant twelve round unanimous decision win over Olympic gold medal winner Robson Conceicao.
