Unbeaten junior welterweight prospect Sergey Lipinets (8-0, 6KOs) of Kazakhstan [now living in Russia] has signed on with manager/adviser Al Haymon.
Two weeks ago, Lipinets got his biggest victory to date by winning a ten round unanimous decision over 23-0 Lydell Rhodes, who fights out of the Mayweather Boxing Club.
Lipinets is another Eastern Euro prospect who refuses to take it slow. He has no fear of being fast-tracked to a world title. In March of this year, he stopped tough veteran Cosme Rivera in nine rounds. It was only Lipinets' sixth fight as a pro and Rivera had just gone the ten round distance with the far more experienced Konstantin Ponomarev [then 24-0].
Lipinets, 26-years-old, turned pro in Russia in April of 2014 and saw action three times this year, with all three bouts taking place in the United States. He plans to be more active in the coming year. The boxer is managed by Alex Vaysfeld.
Haymon is stocking up on Eastern Eurpean talent. Among his stable of at least 150 fighters, he advises Ievgen Khytrov, Ivan Redkach, Sergiy Derevyanchenko, Artur Beterbiev and Beibut Shumenov.
