WBC junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is going through his final runs in training camp, preparing for this Saturday's initial defense of his crown against mandatory challenger Ryan Rhodes in Guadalajara. Alvarez respects the size and power of his opponent. Rhodes had previously fought at 160-pounds and moved down in weight. The British boxer believes that he is a lot stronger than Canelo, who also feels that a knockout victory is within reach.
"Rhodes is a very good fighter. He's very strong and put his punches together well. When I watched his fights, I could see that he was a strong fighter. We have a good strategy worked out for the fight. I'm going to be in the best shape of my career. I won't run from him. I know what I have to do and If see an opening, I will go for the knockout," Alvarez said.
