Abel Sanchez, the trainer for WBC, IBO, WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (38-0-1, 34 KOs), is hoping that Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs).

There has been a lot of animosity between the two boxers in recent months - and Sanchez is hoping that Canelo lives up to his words.

Canelo and Golovkin are scheduled to collide on September 15th, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

They were scheduled to fight on May 5th - but the contest was canceled after Canelo tested positive for the banned substance clenbuterol and was then suspended for six months by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Golovkin then accused Canelo of being a long-time user of performance enhancing drugs.

And Canelo has promised to severely punish Golovkin for those statements - which is music to the ears of Sanchez.

Sanchez highly criticized Canelo in the aftermath of the first contest - because he felt the Mexican boxer was 'running" instead of fighting.

"We hope that Canelo will not run and give us the fight that he promised the public. Golovkin has a way of fighting and he will attack, and if they give us the fight they are proposing - [Golovkin] will knock him out and he knows it," Sanchez told ESPN Deportes.

In the last few weeks, a lot of fans were firmly behind Golovkin in the tense negotiations for the Canelo rematch. Canelo had initially offered a monetary split of 65-35 - which later got changed to 60-40, and eventually to 57.5-42.5 - all of which was rejected by Golovkin.

There are still no details to reveal regarding the terms which Golovkin finally accepted.

"We hope to give the fans an unforgettable, a classic fight - because on September 15, it's going to be the day that we will remember for a long time because Canelo is going to get knocked out," said Sanchez.
