WBO featherweight world champion Orlando Salido (38-11-2, 26KOs) is looking to return in August. The boxer was very pleased to read a recent report on BoxingScene.com, where WBC champion Jhonny Gonzalez expressed his intention of pursuing a unification with Salido. Gonzalez (51-7, 45KOs) defends his belt against Elio Rojas on Apruil 28th in Mexico.
"I wish him luck in his April defense against Elio Rojas and I would love to fight him in a unification bout for the WBC and WBO belts. The fight would be an all-out war and I welcome the fight," Salido said.
Also, Salido doesn't rule out the possibilty of moving up in weight to face WBO super featherweight champion Adrien Broner (23-0, 19KOs).
"Well right now I am comfortable at 126-pounds but if the right opportunity presented itself, I would welcome the challenge of fighting for the WBO 130-pound title. Broner is a good fighter but he has never faced a champion and Mexican fighter like myself. I would take his hair brush and brush a [location] on the canvas were I would put him," Salido said.
"I also would like to thank Showtime again for [televising] my memorable fights with Juanma Lopez and I look forward to fighting on Showtime again."
