Ryad Merhy is to fight Senegal’s Gora Niang at heavyweight at Centre Sportif du Blocry in Louvain la Neuve, Belgium on October 18.
Belgium’s Merhy, 34-3 (28KOs), lost to Jared Anderson at heavyweight in April 2024 but has since stopped Halim Haxhijaj and Andrej Pesic.
Niang, 7-1-2 (7KOs), lost for the first time when being outpointed by Leonardo Bevilacqua in July, but he responded by stopping Prince George Akrong earlier in September. Aged 31, Niang is the younger fight by a year.
On the 12 Rounds Promotion’s undercard, the junior welterweight Antoine Vanackere, the son of the promoter Alain Vanackere, fights Walid Ouizza, and Bruno Jacobs and Badr Jalane fight at light heavyweight.
