WBC interim-middleweight champion Marco Antonio Rubio has promised to go for broke against WBA/IBO middleweight king Gennady Golovkin on October 18th at the Stubhub Center in Carson, California. Rubio has an impressive pro record of 59 wins, 51 of these by way of knockout in exchange for six defeats and a draw, while Golovkin has knocked out 27 of his 30 opponents.

The fight is a little more than a week away, with Rubio finishing up his training with coach Robert Garcia in Oxnard, California. The boxer said he will "go for broke on everything" in order to secure the victory in the HBO televised card, which is called 'Mexican Style.'

The winner will become the mandatory challenger to WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico.

"The word defeat has not even crossed my mind. I'm going in there to get a resounding victory," Rubio said.
