Marco Antonio Rubio, the mandatory challenger to the middleweight champion of the World Boxing Counsel, saw nothing that worried him in the title winning effort by Julio Caesar Chávez Jr., who last Saturday won twelve round majority decision to capture the title from Sebastián Zbik of Germany. Rubio doesn't expect Chavez to last the distance if they get in the ring. Earlier this year, Rubio knocked out previously unbeaten David Lemieux to earn the shot.
"I think that I can finish him before eight rounds. [After watching the Zbik fight], I am even more convinced that I can defeat him without much trouble. I wantChavez Jr. I'm sure that I will beat him by knockout. I'm confident that the World Boxing Council will get me that fight. I did my part and now I hope the [WBC] does theirs, because I earned that title shot," said Rubio.
