Middleweight contender Marco Reyes (32-1, 24KOs) is heading over to the United States to support his friend and stablemate, World Boxing Council (WBC) interim champion Marco Antonio "Veneno" Rubio, who is preparing for his unification with IBO/WBA champion Gennady Golovkin face Kazakh. The fight is agreed to for the 18th of October at the StubHub Ceter in Carson.
Reyes, who last year continued his streak of wins, including a decision over Porky Medina, will work with Rubio in Oxnard, California - where Rubio is preparing under the watchful supervision of former world champion Robert Garcia.
"Training with my friend (Marco Antonio Rubio) will allow me to gain experience, and correct errors and improve the performance of some punches," said Reyes.
"Being away from my home is a great sacrifice, which ultimately will be worth it. I know Marco will get a big win. And with the help of my promoter Promociones del Pueblo, I will reach the biggest heights possible."
