Saturday night at New York's Madison Square Garden, Joe Calzaghe (45-0, 32KOs) and Roy Jones Jr. (52-4, 38 KOs), both at the tail-end of their careers, finally step in the ring after years of debate over which of the two is the better fighter. After years of being hidden away in the UK, Calzaghe takes part in his second consecutive fight in America. After years of being away from the limelight, Jones has worked his way back to the big stage.
"This is what I do for a living," Jones said. "I've been ducking and dodging in my sleep. I know he's punching already. I ain't tripping about that, because that's what he does. But we'll have to see Saturday night what we're going to do about that. I'm at my prime. I'm feeling better than ever."
"When you look in your mirror and see how cute you are still at almost age 40 and say 'Wow, I still look good,' and then when you walk down the street and 19-year-old girls say, 'Hey, can I get your phone number?' Nah, I ain't lost it yet."
Calzaghe is a heavy favorite, but make no mistake - he's not taking Jones for granted or letting the hype go to his head.
"Make no mistakes, I respect the guy," Calzaghe said, "but he's in my way. He's fighting to stop something I've been working my life for, and I'm not going to allow that."
