The boxing world is still discussing the shocking knockout of Manny Pacquiao. Roger Mayweather, the uncle and trainer of Floyd Mayweather Jr., was not surprised that Juan Manuel Marquez was able to knock Pacquiao out in the sixth round of their fourth fight on December 8th. There have been rumors of possible PED use, but Roger doesn't go in that direction. He says Pacquiao was knocked out before, and he was knocked out again by a fighter with similar physical qualities.
"I was there when he got knocked out. He's been knocked out before. It doesn't surprise me that he got knocked out. It just happened. It doesn't surprise me. Marquez and him about the same size, same weight division, so it don't surprise me that he got knocked out," Mayweather said.
On the other hand, IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander was shocked. He expected Pacquiao to win the fourth match and couldn't believe the way things ended. As we all know, sometimes it only takes one punch to change an entire fight.
"I was very surprised. Every interview I did I said Pacquiao was going to win and come motivated. And that's what he was doing [winning the fight]. He was winning at first until he got caught. That's boxing," Alexander said.
