Former Commonwealth heavyweight champion Martin Rogan says he is fully focusing on his October 22nd EU title challenge against Kubrat Pulev after revealing that Tyson Fury has not contacted him over a possible British, Irish and Commonwealth title bout next month.

The 40 year-old, who claimed the first ever Prizefighter crown in 2008, had been linked with a bout against the newly crowned double champion since Fury, 23, claimed the belts in a unanimous win over Dereck Chisora at Wembley Arena last month.

The rugged Irishman is not expecting a shot at Manchester-born Fury in the near future though and does not expect to be in the opposite corner when the Lonsdale Belt holder returns to the ring at the King’s Hall in Belfast on September 17th.

“There is no news yet [on Fury]and I have my sights firmly set on October 22,” stated Rogan.

“It is all systems go for the EBU title. Mick [Hennessy] never spoke to me to arrange anything. I hear he called [Coleman] Barrett for a fight.

“I have also been informed that Fury’s team won’t speak to me.

“It’s OK, I am not worried. I am the people’s champ here and I don’t need Tyson Fury, he needs me. Mick Hennessy Pro have my number,” added the Irishman.
