Roberto Marroquin of Dallas gets back into action this weekend with a new trainer - Paul Reyes, who worked the corners of world champions Donald 'Lone Star Cobra' Curry and Paulie Ayala - on a Top Rank Live! fight card in Denver, Colorado.

Marroquin, coming off his first pro loss, is working with Reyes at his son's gym in River Oaks, Texas. On Saturday night, Marroquin will take on Jose Beranza of Mexico City.

"We're ready to fight," said Reyes. "Marroquin did everything we asked - starting with a lot of running which is what we did with our champions, Donald Curry and Paulie Ayala.

"Marroquin is an outstanding boxer who can adapt to another fighter's style," Reyes said. "He is a good boxer with excellent hand speed. He needs this fight and he needs a win on Saturday night. I know he will win. I can feel it.

"Marroquin reminds me a lot of Paulie who fought with a lot of heart," Reyes said. "Marroquin has another great weapon - his uppercuts. He will firing off a few uppers on Saturday night."
