Former two division champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero (29-1-1, 18KOs) is scheduled to return on August 6, with HBO televising the fight. Guerrero missed out on a potential fight with WBA 140-pound Amir Khan, when the British star finalized a deal to face IBF champion Zab Judah on July 23. As the reigning WBA/WBO interim-lightweight champion, Guerrero is the mandatory challenger to full champion Juan Manuel Marquez, who plans to take a fight at 140-pounds in July, and then he'll march forward to a November showdown with Manny Pacquiao. Guerrero sat down with BoxingScene.com Marquez, Pacquiao, Victor Ortiz and more.

Robert Guerrero: I have a date to fight on August 6. HBO gave me that date, and hopefully we can make that big fight for all of the fans and we can give them something to watch.

BoxingSCene.com: If you could pick your next opponent, who would it be?

RG: Manny Pacquiao. I know for sure that Manny Pacquiao would sign on the dotted line.

BoxingScene.com: Do you believe that the recent cooling of heads and the settlement between Manny Pacquiao and Golden Boy Promotions would lend itself to Pacquiao's Top Rank Promotions approving a fight against you?

RG: Oh yeah. Now, it looks like there is always a possibility that that could happen. You just have to keep looking forward to the opportunity to face the best.

You know, right now, Manny Pacquiao is considered the best. He don't turn down any fights, so, you know, I just think that it's time to fight a youngster. Hopefully, that youngster could be me.

BoxingScene.com: What about the prospects of fighting your promotional stablemate, WBC welterweight champion, Victor Ortiz?

RG: I'll fight Victor Ortiz, too. Bring him down.

BoxingScene.com: Have you heard anything specific from Richard Schaefer or your management concerning a fight with Marcos Maidana?

RG: No. The only conversations were about Amir Khan before he made the decision to fight Zab Judah. But we'll see what happens.

The fights always get mentioned, and nothing is in granite stone until you step into that ring. So I'll just keep training and just see who they bring in.

BoxingScene.com: Is there any frustration on your part?

RG: No. Not really. It is kind of tough getting fights, but you just have to keep on training and stay ready, because  I'd like to get that big fight, and it's time. You just have to be patient.

BoxingScene.com: As the interim WBC and WBO lightweight titlist to the WBC and WBO belts of Juan Manuel Marquez, do you have any sense or hopes that you would be elevated to full champion and Marquez stripped by those organizations if Marquez takes a fight in July or follows through with plans for a third fight with Manny Pacquiao?

RG: Yeah, but, I heard that maybe his fight with David Diaz wasn't going through and that it hasn't been completely made. So if Marquez is looking for another fight, then, you know, I'm always around.

If they want to make a fight between me and Juan Manuel Marquez, tell him to give me a call. You know, I'm always ready.

I'm just looking for that big fight, and like I said, It's time. It's time for me to get that big fight.
