Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach is still very focused on having Manny Pacquiao face Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the first half of 2015. There are ongoing discussions to have the two welterweight champions clash in a major pay-per-view event.
Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who promotes Pacquiao, is currently speaking with CBS CEO Less Moonves. Arum was assured by Moonves of his ability to get Mayweather for the fight.
If a deal is actually made, Roach says there can't be any mistakes on the part of Pacquiao. Roach also wants Pacquiao to be very aggressive; which he sees as a necessity to take away Mayweather's undefeated 47-0 record.
"I can't wait to get ready for Floyd Mayweather. He is a challenge. I have a great fighter, but we have to fight the perfect fight to win. I know that. We have to do certain things to win. We have to be a little bit meaner and a bit more feisty," Roach was quoted by the Philippine Star. "[Moonves] said he could deliver Mayweather and he hasn’t done that yet. We’ll see. I think we’ve waited long enough."
