Macau, China - According to trainer Freddie Roach, WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao showed absolutely no mercy in training camp. Roach has been trying to bring out the "old Pacquiao" - who was very aggressive in the ring and knocked out his opponents. Pacquiao has not scored a stoppage victory since 2009, when he got a TKO win over Miguel Cotto in the twelfth round of their contest.

Pacquiao is usually nice to him during camp, but Roach confirms that his superstar pupil roughed him up badly during a session with the mitts. Roach says Pacquiao stunned him with a good shot, and instead of stopping to check on his trainer - Pacquiao continued to unload with his punches until Roach went down.

"Usually when he hits me with a good shot, sometimes when he knows he hurts me he'll say sorry and stuff like this. This time he just f***ing stayed on me and he knocked me down one day on the mitts. For the first time in a long time, he had two knockdowns with the sparring partners. I haven't seen that in while. Everything is very good. I like what I see and I think he's going to bring it out in the fight," Roach said.

Pacquiao defends his title against Chris Algieri on Saturday night at the Venetian in Macau, China.
