Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach is confident that Manny Pacquiao would knock Floyd Mayweather out if a rematch took place.
The two superstars were trading words on social media on Tuesday night.
In what is widely considered the richest fight in boxing history, Mayweather won a twelve round unanimous decision over Pacquiao in May of 2015.
This past Saturday night, Pacquiao - at 40-years-old - won a solid twelve round decision over undefeated Keith Thurman to capture the WBA welterweight title.
Mayweather was watching closely as he sat ringside at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The former five division champion retired back in August 2017, after stopping UFC superstar Conor McGregor in ten rounds.
Both Roach and Pacquiao maintain that a shoulder injury was a big factor in their losing effort against Mayweather. Pacquiao did undergo surgery a few days after the fight.
Roach strongly feels that a "healthy" Pacquiao would be too much for Mayweather, who is now 42-years-old.
"I really think Manny can knock him out," Roach told TMZ Sports.
"[Floyd] would be a fight we'd want. I'd like to get that one back one more time. I know we can do much better. We had an injury in that fight, but regardless, we lost a close decision. I know Manny can do much better than that.
"Floyd's last couple of fights against a kickboxer and whatever the other guy was [Conor McGregor] he wasn't too impressive... "I think it's a good time to catch him right now.
"I do think it could happen, yes. Probably not 'til next year. But, the thing is, it is a big fight out there. And, again a fresh Manny with no injuries, I love that fight."
