Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach believes IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-0, 25KOs) is too small to beat middleweight king Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs).

Roach says the outcome of the fight could be very similar to the May encounter between Amir Khan and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. Khan jumped up from 147 to 155 for a catch-weight encounter with Canelo. The fight ended in brutal fashion with Khan getting knocked out cold in the sixth round.

After looking at photos of their recent two-country press tour, Roach feels there is a very clear size advantage in Golovkin's favor. He doesn't expect too much competition in the fight, but is unsure if Brook will do any better or worse than Khan did with Canelo.

In the opinion of Roach, the best fights for Golovkin are up in the super middleweight division - where Gilberto Ramirez, Badou Jack, James DeGale and several other good fighters reside.

"I think he's got no shot. He's a good fighter and he seems like nice kid, but he's too small. I don't think he's got any shot. I think Gennady Golovkin is the best pound for pound fighter in the world. It could be the same [ending] as Canelo and Khan, it's hard to really say. Golovkin, in my opinion, is the best fighter in boxing right now. I think Brook is too small to beat him," Roach said.
