Promoter Henry Rivalta of Acquinity Sports believes that his boxer, Dominican star Joan Guzmán 32-0-1 (18 KO's), can easily defeat welterweight contender Devon Alexander, who dominated Marcos Maidana over ten rounds on Saturday night in St. Louis. Guzman returns on Marhc 2nd Jesús Pabon or Puerto Rico in Hollywood, Florida.
“Joan Guzmán would play with Alexander. Guzman is on another level and I am sure that when Guzmán moves up to 147-pounds, he will be able to defeat with Devon clearly,” Rivalta said.
Since coming back to the sport, Guzman has been fighting at 140-pounds, but he doesn't rule out the possibility of a welterweight run - if the right opportunity comes along.
