Richardson Hitchins believed that a life of fame and fortune was in his immediate future after signing with Mayweather Promotions in 2017. Yet, after being left on the shelf far more often than he expected, Hitchins decided to take his career into his own hands. With a bevy of promoters vying for his services, Hitchins latched onto Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing.

Having officially signed the former Olympian, Hearn moved quickly, placing him on the undercard of a November 12th, show headlined by Montana Love against Yomar Alamo. At the age of 25 and with only a handful of bouts under his belt, Hitchins has confidently boasted of his ability to not only compete but also defeat the best fighters in the super lightweight division.

“I’m that n---- I say I am,” said Hitchins on his social media account. “November 12th, y’all see all over again!”

Despite his bravado, Alamo, Hitchins's upcoming opponent, is anxious to return to the win column. After reeling off three consecutive victories, Alamo was handed the first defeat of his career in his most recent showing against Liam Paro. Still, in spite of Alamo’s hunger, Hitchins is ostensibly looking ahead.

Though his career is still in its infancy stages, Hitchins yearns for better opposition and a brighter spotlight. In the immediate, Hitchins has bigger plans, starting with a one-sided victory against Alamo, before moving on to a showdown against Love.

With the Cleveland, Ohio, native gaining traction in the super lightweight division, Hitchins has every intention of not only facing the highly ranked contender next but in kind, inflicting serious damage.

“After the 12th, Montana Love best to not run 'cause I got some sh!t in store for him.”
