A bout between lightweight prospect Ivan Redkach and once-beaten Tony Luis will be the main event of Showtime’s “ShoBox: The New Generation” broadcast on Jan. 17, airing from the Cook Convention Center in Memphis, Tenn., according to Luis’ adviser, Matt Yanofsky.

“Ivan Redkach is a very good prospect, and we know it’s a dangerous fight, but Tony has been in much tougher as a pro,” Yanofsky said.

Luis, who will turn 26 one week before the bout, is a fighter from Cornwall, Ontario, with a record of 17-1 (7 KOs). His lone defeat came in January, when he suffered an eighth-round technical knockout against a 13-6-1 foe named Jose Hernandez. Since then, Luis has won a pair of six-round unanimous decisions.

Redkach, 27, is originally from the Ukraine but now living in Los Angeles. He is 15-0 with 13 knockouts and 1 no contest. His last appearance came in early November, when he scored a third-round technical knockout over an 11-9-1 opponent named Lowell Brownfield.
