Rances Barthelemy (23-0, 13KOs), who recently moved up by two weight divisions, is looking for big opportunities. Two weeks ago he dominated former lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco over ten rounds at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. DeMarco retired after the contest.
Although he moved up to 140-pounds, Barthelemy could now be in position to get a world title shot. Mickey Bey vacated his IBF lightweight crown. The sanctioning body ordered a fight between Barthelemy and Denis Shafikov for the vacant.
Barthelemy has no issue with going down to the lightweight limit for a world title opportunity. And he also spoke with his adviser/manager Al Haymon about opportunities at 140-pounds.
"[Al Haymon told me that] great things are to come. We've talked about [fights with] Adrien Broner, Omar Figueroa," Barthelemy told George Ebro.
Broner had fought one night prior to Barthelemy, at the same venue, and suffered a decision loss to Shawn Porter.
