WBC #1 cruiserweight Rakhim Chakhkiev, fresh off his March stoppage win against Juho Haapoja, will look to extend his recent winning series further on May 30 at Luzhniki Arena in Moscow, Russia. Chakhkiev (18-1, 14 KOs) takes on previously undefeated WBC #9 Ghanaian Braimah Kamoko (26-0, 20 KOs) in the first of his WBC Silver belt. The fight will land in the undercard of Alexander Povetkin's bout against Manuel Charr, which has been announced by the BoxingScene earlier.
The collision was confirmed both by Chakhkiev's representatives and through his Instagram account. Rakhim, 2008 Beijing Olympics heavyweight gold medalist, who lost his first major title bid to Krzysztof Wlodarczyk about a year ago, is looking forward to set his second chance at the green belt. Kamoko, 33, is X in the equation as his true potential is unknown. The Ghanaian fought exclusively at home, most of his opponents being hapless pretenders. Yet he also has wins over former middleweight beltholder Hector Javier Velazco and recent Juergen Braehmer's opponent Vikapita Meroro.
