Roger Mayweather, uncle and trainer of WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (45-0, 26KOs), says British star Amir Khan is a bigger fight than Marcos Maidana, the WBA's welterweight champion.

Khan and Maidana are the two frontrunners to face Mayweather on May 3rd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. All of the signs are pointing to a deal with Khan. Maidana's camp recently stated that nobody had approached them with an offer to face Mayweather in May.

"[Fighting Maidana] is okay, but I think Amir Khan would be a bigger fight. [Does he deserve the fight], not really. But, he's the only guy who really has a name where you could put it on [Showtime]. For the networks, you need to have a guy who could [produce]....in order to get that television, to get television [viewers] to watch it," Roger Mayweather said.
