Scott Quigg believes his demolition of Kiko Martinez puts him "in the driving seat" for a possible world title unification fight with Carl Frampton.

Quigg stopped Martinez within two rounds on Saturday, while Frampton was forced to recover from two early knock downs to overcome Alejandro Gonzalez Jr on points.

"He [Frampton] struggled a bit," Quigg told Sky Sports News. "I've just gone and beaten the best fighter he's fought. Martinez went 12 rounds with Frampton; he lasted two rounds with me.

"Who's in the driving seat now?"

Promoter Eddie Hearn said he would approach Frampton with an improved offer to fight Quigg if both retained their super-bantamweight world titles on Saturday, and Quigg is confident he would come out on top against the Northern Irishman.

"I've always wanted the fight. The chance to prove I'm the best, prove I can beat him if he wants to get in the ring with me," said Quigg. "If he wants the fight, I'm here."

Quigg also admitted that his performance against Martinez surprised even himself: "I was expecting 12 torturous rounds. This was the first fighter that people were saying would be a real test.

"You see the more fear I have, the more I thrive on it. The better the fighter, the better the opponent, the better the performance will be.

"It's performances like last night that are going to lead me to fights with the likes of [Filipino/American] Nonito Donaire or [Mexican] Leo Santa Cruz.

"I'm on top of the world. Last night couldn't have gone any better. I put in the best performance of my career."

But Quigg did express sympathy for gym-mate Anthony Crolla, who was denied the WBA lightweight title after a controversial draw on Saturday night.

"It was a robbery. He was robbed of his world title shot in January and I personally believe he was robbed of becoming world champion last night.

"But he proved he is world class and he'll definitely become world champion."
