The name Qiu Xiaojun, is not unfamiliar in both domestic and international boxing circles.
Being deemed the most promising Chinese boxer by many foreign media and boxing fans for his excellent tactics and strong power, the young athlete has the strength to compete with world-class first-tier boxers. And he is the only Chinese fighter to win the WBC silver title belt and defends the title successfully.
Born in Hangzhou of Zhejiang Province, Qiu Xiaojun practiced the skills of martial arts and sanda at an early age. When he was 13, his coach Cheng Maohua recommended him to learn boxing in the Affiliated High School of Shanghai College of Sports. Then the seed of boxing began to root in his heart and grow into a dream, which accompanies him on his way from a nobody, to a teenage champion to a titleholder.
Xiaojun has gotten dozens of laurels after harsh training and unremitting endeavors.
In November 16 of 2013, he won the ABCO (Asian Boxing Council, an affiliated organization of WBC) intercontinental champion and the WBC Youth Champion. After 4 times of defending of his intercontinental title, he won the vacant WBC world silver belt in the CCTV Chinese New Year Cup held in February 2 of 2015, remarking him as a top boxer in the world stage.
And in November 7 in 2015, he successfully defended his WBC world silver belt in Monte Carlo. The next day, in the WBC Junior Featherweight World Silver fight, Xiaojun finished the match in advance in his confrontation with French champion boxer Amor Belahdj Ali, and then had an interview with the King Albert of Monaco.
Up to now, his standings are 25 bouts, 21 wins and 4 losses, 10 KOs.
This year, the termination of his agreement with his former handlers didn’t halt this fearless man. This fighter never forgets why he started, never gives up, and is never stopped by the honors and difficulties. Rather, he changes them into his energy and departs again towards his dream in a more down-to-earth manner.
He established Junling Sports and Culture Ltd, and arranged his comeback match. As a great gathering of so many super boxers, the WBC Championship is to demonstrate to the world that the champion is back.
It is worth mentioning that Xiaojun cooperated with Manny Pacquiao in the preparatory training of this match, and Ericxon, the chief coach of Philippines based MP Pacquiao Boxing Hall and Philippines' Wildcard Boxing Hall, and also joined the coach and his team for one-on-one tutoring.
On November 26, a fierce fight will take place in Kunming.
