Colombian junior welterweight Breidis Prescott (24-2, 19KOs) wants to make a statement on Saturday night at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast. He faces Paul McCloskey (22-1, 12KOs) in a WBA eliminator. The winner becomes the mandatory challenger to WBA "regular" champion Marcos Maidana. Both Prescott and McCloskey would rather secure a fight with the WBA's "super champion" at 140, Amir Khan (26-1, 18KOs).
Prescott knocked Khan out in 54-seconds in 2008, and Khan won a six round technical decision over McCloskey in April.
