"Showtime" Shawn Porter (26-1-1, 16KOs) is really looking forward to a potential fight with WBA 'regular' champion Keith 'One Time' Thurman (26-0, 22KOs).

Porter has been sitting patient, inactive since the June decision victory over Adrien Broner and he's ready to enter the ring.

Thurman has been away since stopping former champion Luis Collazo in a July headliner to the Premier Boxing Champions [PBC] debut on ESPN.

The fight was initially being discussed to take place in early December, and then late December, and then January as the headliner to the PBC debut on Fox. Now it appears that mid to late February is more likely and the network being taregted to televise the fight is still undecided.

Both sides are hopeful the fight pushes through. Thurman appeared last week in a televised interview on NBCSN and said he was very motivated to a potential fight with Porter being finalized for the new year.

"At this point this is a business and I understand that, and I think that's why it's taking so long for this fight to be made. I'm not offering my purse but I will do what it takes to make this fight," Porter told BoxingScene.com.

"Me personally, when I looked at it I thought it was just the business. But I think along with him deciding on when he's going to fight - December was just too soon for him and I understand that. I'm going to be who I am. I'm going to be a professional. I'm going to stay ready. When the call comes, as long as it's the right call, we'll make that fight happen."
