Amateur star Erickson Lubin, recently signed by Iron Mike Productions in October, is training hard for his pro debut in Florida on November 26th at the BB & T Center in Sunrise, Florida on the undercard in the event presented by Golden Boy Promotions.
Lubin is scheduled to fight vs. a yet to be determined opponent at the event where Antonio Tarver returns to the heavyweight division in the main event. Lubin is training with head coach John David Jackson in Deerfield Beach.
During his amateur boxing career, Lubin achieved important victories at 147 pounds around the United States in the major amateurs boxing tournaments. His debut is anticipated by the boxing world to see if Lubin is able to sustain success in professional boxing as he did in the amateurs.
"I have no pressure, rather than fighting in professional boxing is different, workouts are stronger and hopefully I will give the fans a good fight. I must be patient, I'm still young and this is my first fight. We're talking about a long career where I can put my best effort to achieve something important and being here in the gym is the only way to achieve my goals," said Lubin.
"Times have changed a lot, now the media is something every boxer needs to emerge, in addition to his talent for boxing. But we do not want to put any additional pressure on Lubin and treat him you should do with a young man who has the tools to achieve great things. You have to work on the technical and tactical elements. Our job is to increase his capacity and provide him with all of our knowledge to achieve his goals," added Jackson.
