Southaven, MS – Prize Fight Boxing returns to The Fitz Casino & Hotel November 18th as the undefeated Peterson brothers are set to appear in separate bouts in the latest installment of Prize Fight’s “Fights At The Fitz”. The main event will feature undefeated and #3 world ranked Anthony Peterson in an 8 round clash against former world titlist, Alfred Kotey from Ghana . Presently, Anthony (20-0,16 KO’s) is the NABO Lightweight Champion and was recently named by ESPN Boxing as it’s 2006 prospect of the year. Anthony appeared on ESPN multiple times in 2006 and captured his NABO title on the network in June by defeating Adan Hernandez at WC Handy Park in Memphis, TN. However, his opponent Alfred Kotey has a record of 24-13-1 (14 KO’s) and is a former WBO world title holder who has fought some of the toughest boxers in the business today. Consequently, Kotey is sure to be a formidable opponent for Anthony Peterson.
Lamont Peterson 18-0 (8 KO’s) returns to the Fitz for the first time since December 2005 as he will square off against Marteze Logan from nearby Covington, TN. Lamont is coming off a convincing victory this past September over Omar Bernal and must get by the tough Logan to line himself up for a potential title shot in 2007. Logan, who recently shocked the previously undefeated prospect Americo Santos, looks to add a blemish to Lamont’s perfect record. The Peterson vs. Logan bout will be an 8 round bout in the Jr. Welterweight division.
The star studded card at the Fitz continues to get better as 8-Time World Champion Ann Wolfe will also be on the card in a 6 round bout in the female super middleweight division. Wolfe is no secret to mid-south fight fans as she has appeared at The Fitz and in Memphis at FedExForum many times already in her career. Wolfe 24-1 (16 KO’s) will put her 19 fight win streak on the line against Valerie Mahfood 19-11-3 (9 KO’s). Mahfood is the only woman alive who has ever beaten Ann Wolfe as she stopped Wolfe on November 30, 2000 in front of a stunned audience in Houston, Texas .
Also on the card will be local sensation Ira Terry 10-0 (6 KO’s) from nearby Brighton, TN. Ira has been on a fast pace since turning pro this past February and will battle a yet to be named opponent in a 6 round Jr. lightweight bout. Ira’s combination of speed and power is admired by the Fitz fans as he is quickly becoming a fan favorite.
Josiah Judah, the younger brother of 3-Time World Champion Zab Judah, will make another appearance at the Fitz. Josiah will battle journeyman Anthony Bowman in a 6 round clash that is sure to be entertaining from the opening bell. In July of this year, Josiah last appeared at the Fitz as he won a unanimous decision against Norman Johnson. At the present time, Zab Judah is expected to be in attendance at "Fights at the Fitz".
