Former WBC light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal (28-2-1, 18KOs) was annoyed with Lucian Bute's recent statements, where Bute (31-1, 24KOs) stated that Pascal is not capable of fighting hard for twelve rounds and is likely to gas out in the second half of the fight. The two Canadian stars are scheduled to collide on January 18th at the Bell Centre in Montreal. HBO will televise the contest.
"That is false. The only time in 30 pro fights where I think my stamina dropped was the first fight against Bernard Hopkins. Being tired after a round, that is normal and if you are not [tired] - it's because you did not give 100% [in the round]. It means that you have not emptied your tank. I would say that I am more instinctive [than Bute]. In fact, this is the big difference between me and Bute. He is a mechanical boxer and he must learn to do things in order to put them into practice during a fight. He is like a robot. I am able to adapt to all situations and Lucian has no idea of what to expect during the evening of January 18," Pascal told The Montreal Journal.
