Having notched up three victories in a row during the last two years- the most recent being against his countryman Lucian Bute, Canadian superstar Jean Pascal announces he wants to take on Mexican star Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Pascal, who visited Mexico City to be present at the election of the new President of the WBC, Mauricio Sulaiman, confirmed that he’s at the zenith of his career and he wants to face the very best of his division.
“I don’t know if he'll see this...but Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is my next target. It would be a great fight and I’d love to fight him. It would be a spectacular event in Mexico, U.S. or Canada and the fans would love it,” Pascal stressed.
Chavez Jr. will fight Brian Vera on March 1st at super middleweight. Pascal fights at light heavyweight but it's possible that he could reach an agreement regarding a catch-weight.
“I want to fight two more bouts this year, probably in June and then November, or December. I want to face the best to become one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world,” Pascal explained.
Pascal, age 31, holds a record of 29-2-1 and 17 KO’s.
