WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker welcomes a unification with IBF, IBO, WBA beltholder Anthony Joshua.

Before he can looking in that direction, Parker is going to make a mandatory defense against unbeaten challenger Hughie Fury on September 23 in the UK.

Joshua is looking at a ring return in the fall, either in a rematch with Wladimir Klitschko or a mandatory defense against once-beaten Kubrat Pulev of Bulgaria.

Joshua unified his three titles in April when he got off the floor in the sixth round to stop Klitschko in the eleventh round before a record crowd of 90,000 fans at Wembley. Klitschko has the right to exercise an immediate rematch clause, but has yet to make a decision.

Parker became a world champion in December, when he won a very close twelve round decision over Andy Ruiz. He was scheduled to make the mandatory against in Fury, but the contest got pushed back after Fury suffered a back injury and withdrew from the bout. Parker was in London on Saturday night at Copper Box, as he watched Fury take part in an exhibition to shake off some rust.

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ, Parker said: "At first I have Hughie Fury and I am not going to look past him, but I would love the Joshua fight. Joshua is always improving and looked great against Klitschko last time out, he's a clever fighter who wants what I have.

"He's got two titles but there are two more in the division and I have one of them. If he wants to unify the division, he has to face me or (WBC Champion) Deontay Wilder - I would love to set up a fight. I back myself against any heavyweight, I train hard, focus and believe I can beat anyone out there. He believes he can beat me so let's get it done."
