Osleys Iglesias and Pavel Silyagin made weight Wednesday for their vacant IBF super middleweight fight, which will take place Thursday at the Montreal Casino in Montreal.
Iglesias hit the scales at 167.5lbs, only to be matched by Silyagin, who came in at the same weight.
Iglesias, 14-0 (13 KOs), enters on an eight-fight knockout streak. During that time, he knocked out former title contender Vladimir Shishkin in September and also stopped contenders Petro Ivanov, Sena Agbeko, Evgeny Shvedenko and Marcelo Coceres. Cuba’s 28-year-old Iglesias, who resides in Berlin, will fight for one of the four world titles vacated by former undisputed belt holder Terence Crawford when he retired.
Silyagin, 16-0-1 (7 KOs), is on a three-fight win streak, including defeating Pablo Exequiel Crozo by unanimous decision in July. He drew with Shvedenko (an opponent he shares with Iglesias) in 2023. A 32-year-old from Novosibirsk, Russia, Silyagin will be participating in his first title fight.
The co-feature will see junior welterweight contender Arthur Biyarslanov, 20-0 (16 KOs), make his 2026 debut. Biyarslanov, a 2016 Olympian, was tested in his most recent outing by former beltholder Sergey Lipinets. A 30-year-old from Russia who is now training out of Montreal, Bearslanov will be trying to show his growth against Jimerr Espinosa, of Mexico City. Espinosa, 17-2-1 (16 KOs), is unbeaten in his past three fights since a December 2023 split decision loss to Delante “Tiger” Johnson.
