The Nevada State Athletic Commission is taking action against Bernard Hopkins for  starting a fight with Winky Wright at their pre-fight weigh-in. Keith Kizer, executive director of the NSAC, has told the media that 10% of Hopkins' $3 million dollar purse ($300,000) will be held by the commission.

The commission plans to file a complaint against Hopkins on Monday and make a ruling on whether or not he will face a suspension and/or a significant fine on July 31.

The scuffle began after both fighters officially weighed-in and stood face-to-face for the pre-fight stare down. Hopkins put his hand on Wright's face and shoved his head back, which immediately caused both camps to begin throwing punches. The commission reviewed a videotape of the weigh-in and determined that Hopkins threw the first blow to start the melee.
