Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam returned to the ring Saturday with a 10-round unanimous decision victory over Anthony Fitzgerald. It was the Frenchman's first bout since he lost his WBO middleweight title to Peter Quillin in Oct. 2012 on Showtime.
N'Dam (27-1, 18 KOs) is now fighting under the guidance of manager Gary Hyde, who counts Guillermo Rigondeaux in his growing stable.
With his comeback fight out of the way, N'Dam has his sights set on reclaiming a middleweight belt.
"I always fancied a fight against Felix Sturm," N'Dam told BoxingScene.com. "He's a great champion, but he will not be able to deal with my movement and power if we meet for the world title."
Sturm won the IBF title with a shocking second round stoppage of Darren Barker earlier this month.
"N'Dam is up for challenging Sturm in his back garden in the spring of 2014," Hyde told BoxingScene.com. "N'Dam has found great form in his recent training camp in the UK, sparring some of the top contenders over there for the Barcelona fight and promises not to leave anything to the judges if he fights Sturm in Germany."
