Martin Murray (29-2-1, 12KOs) is planning to resume his career in the super middleweight ranks.

His future plan to invade 168 has made him an interested party in today's showdown between countryman James DeGale and Michigan's Andre Dirrell. The two fighters will collide for the vacant IBF super middleweight title in Boston, Massachusetts.

Murray was last seen in the ring in February, getting stopped in the eleventh round by IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin.

He backs DeGale to come through with an clear motivation to face him down the line in a big domestic fight.

DeGale is aiming to become the first British fighter to win an Olympic gold medal and then turn capture a world championship.

"I'm coming back as a super-middleweight and there could be a big domestic fight down the line for me," Murray said to scribe Nick Parkinson. "I'm contract free and I'm just waiting to hear about something in mid-July, which if it comes off will be exciting. I'm recovering from an elbow operation a couple weeks ago and am back in the gym."

"I've been in this situation before with Mathew Macklin and Darren Barker at middleweight but hopefully a big domestic fight can happen this time. I really rate James DeGale and he has come on brilliantly in the last couple of years. I think he does the job out there against Andre Dirrell."
