"Sugar" Shane Mosley has been in the ring with both Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26KOs) and Miguel Cotto (37-2, 30KOs). In November of 2007, Mosley lost a close twelve round unanimous decision to Cotto. And in May of 2010, Mosley appeared to be on the verge of shocking the world when he rocked Mayweather's knees in the second round, but Floyd recovered well and dominated his way to a lopsided twelve round decision win.
On May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Mayweather moves up to 154-pounds to challenge Cotto for the WBA's junior middleweight title.
Mosley loves the match. In terms of the winner - he favors Mayweather - but he highly advises Floyd to approach this fight with the most serious of intentions.
"Cotto is no slouch as well. Cotto can fight as well, and Mayweather better take him very seriously. It's a great fight. Floyd has the better boxing skills, but Cotto is no slouch. If you take Cotto for granted, then something else can happen and he could be the victor of that fight. I think that matchup is a great matchup. I think it’s a great fight," Mosley said to BoxingScene.com.
Mosley will appear on the Mayweather-Cotto pay-per-view, as he returns to 154-pounds to challenge undefeated WBC junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.
