Former three division world champion "Sugar" Shane Mosley faced both Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao in the welterweight ranks. Mosley lost twelve round decision to both. He was able to rock Mayweather badly in the second round of their contest, but then got dominated for the remainder of the fight. Against Pacquiao, Mosley was dropped early and then outboxed down the stretch.
Mosley is not expecting a very exciting fight, when Mayweather and Pacquiao collide on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mayweather usually outboxes his opponent for a twelve round decision win. And Pacquiao has not scored a stoppage victory since 2009.
But now that Mayweather is working with strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza, Mosley could see him going for a knockout victory. Ariza had previously worked with Pacquiao for several years.
"It’s not going to be explosive, not like Oscar and my fights for example, where we were brawling. Neither of us played it safe, we fight. Not all fighters are like that. Some box –which is part of the sport, just more the boring part. So if Mayweather outboxes Pacquiao, and Pacquiao can’t catch him then you’re in for a boring fight. Although, now that Mayweather has Alex Ariza, he may have that unknown strength Ariza gives his fighters so Mayweather might be looking for a KO, you never know," Mosley told On The Ropes Boxing Radio .
