"Sugar" Shane Mosley will end a nearly two year retirement when he steps in the ring against Ricardo Mayorga on August 29th at The Forum in Los Angeles. The fight will be broadcast on pay-per-view and the undercard will be announced soon.
Mosley defeated Mayorga via last second knockout in a hotly contested September, 2008 bout. Even with the victory on his resume, Mosley will not take him lightly.
The fight will take place at catchweight of 157 pounds and Mayorga figures to have a significant weight advantage when they enter the ring.
"I can't wait to get in the ring with Mayorga. I feel so good and strong. I know Mayorga is dangerous. Anything can happen. I know he knocked out Vernon Forrest and beat Fernando Vargas. He is probably going to be a lot bigger than me in the ring. This is going to be a war," Mosley stated.
The former three-division champion wants to put on a great show for the fans and feels the talkative and unorthodox Mayorga is the perfect opponent.
"Mayorga knows how I get down and I know how he gets down. We are both tremendous fighters. He loves to fight and I love to fight. That is why I picked him," Mosley told BoxingScene.com.
