Coliseo Olimpico de la UG, Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico - Super flyweights Juan Jose Montes (22-2-1, 14KOs) and Victor Zaleta (20-2-1, 10KOs) fought to a twelve round draw in a hard-fought contest by both men. Montes started strong and Zaleta came back in the later rounds.

Also on the card, lightweight contenders Ricardo Alvarez (18-1-3, 12KOs) and Joksan Hernandez (22-5-1, 14KOs) fought to a ten round draw. The fight was an active brawl. Alvarez suffered a bad cut above right eye from a clash of heads in the ninth. Alvarez appeared to have done enough to win but the judges felt otherwise.

Alvarez may now face WBC champion Antonio DeMarco in August.
