WBC lightweight champion Mikey Garcia (36-0, 30 KOs) is hoping to have a unification fight or two in 2017, before an eventual move to 140-pounds in early 2018.

Garcia is willing to delay his move to junior welterweight - if WBO super featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (7-1, 5 KOs) comes up to 135-pounds to fight him in the near future.

Garcia and Lomachenko are both interested in facing each other, but for the moment they are playing out their title runs in different divisions.

Garcia will keep a close eye on Saturday rematch between Jorge Linares and Anthony Crolla, who battle for the World Boxing Association lightweight title. And he will also be watching the April 8 battle between Terry Flanagan and Petr Petrov, who collide for the World Boxing Organization title.

"I can unify with the winner [of tomorrow's fight], whether it's Linares or Crolla. What we want is to be considered the best of the division, Linares has the title of the WBA, Ring Magazine and he is champion in recess of the WBC, so it would be a big fight. I wish that it could happen in the summer, but I know that it will be difficult," Garcia told ESPN Deportes.

"I would like to fight in the summer but depending on the outcome of the fight on Saturday I can start planning my future. We could work for a unification fight for certain months, but if they get hurt or ask for more time to unify and even face me, then possibly we will have to have to make a defense. Also, Flanagan fights on April 8 with Petr Petrov. It's a fight that I will also be paying attention to. If Linares wins, we will face him. And if he gets hurt he will wait and maybe we could do that fight in November. And if Flanagan or Petrov is available, we will take the best option."

"I want to clean out the division in 2017, that's the plan.. to become the best. In a perfect world [that's what will happen this year], and then in 2018 I'll jump up to super lightweight. Next year if there are no attractive fights at lightweight, then I will go up to super lightweight. Although if Vasyl Lomachenko comes up, for example, I could stay a little longer."
