BoxingScene.com has been advised by a source close to the situation that IBF Lightweight champion Miguel Vazquez (34-3, 13KOs) will take on Mickey Bey (20-1, 10KOs) on August 30th at a site yet to be determined.
This will be Vasquez's 7th defense of his IBF title. He was last seen in the ring in February when he defeated mandatory challenger Denis Shafikov after not having fought in 2013. Vasquez recently signed to Al Haymon and became part of a long list of fighters who aligned themselves with the powerful advisor.
This will be Mickey Bey's first shot at a world title as he's been on a 2 fight win streak since his lone loss in 2013. Bey is considered one of the top fighters at the Mayweather Boxing Club and hopes to be the 2nd TMT fighter to win a world title.
More details will be provided as things develop and become finalized.
