Michel Soro (27-1-1) has relinquished the EBU middleweight title.
The 28-year old from France – who has enjoyed recent success at both 154 and 160 - was set to face official challenger Matteo Signani (22-4-3) on March 12 in Paris.
Signani will now face the highest available challenger for the vacant title.
Soro is the #3 contender at 160 pounds with the WBC and #3 at 154-pounds with the IBF.
EuroProm had won purse bids for the right to stage the fight with an offer for 32 875 Euro (about 35, 822 USD). Soro earned almost twice this amount when he won the EBU title last year.
